Lisbon, a relaxed trip to the Portuguese capital

Take tram line 28 to visit the city, at least to get a good overview. With its many hills, bring good shoes or just take public transport, better to not to get exhausted too quickly in this city of a thousand colors. Indeed, you will be amazed with the azulejos, tile or a set of tiles decorated on the walls of the city. Walk through the cobbled and carved streets, the calçadas, of the capital to get to the Carmelite Convent devastated by an earthquake in 1755 but which deserves to be visited, or even the Jeronimos Monastery with its specific Manueline architecture from Portugal. Get closer to the ocean in this city open to the Atlantic Ocean and taste local products like Bacalhau, Arroz de Marisco or Salada de Polvo which you can enjoy at the Old Ribeira Market. Then return to feel the spray while admiring the statue of Vasco de Gamma (navigator who discovered the Indies) and the Tower of Belem.

But do not linger too long and quickly pick up your lease at the airport to hit the road to the Serra de Sintra, still in the Portuguese Center region where Lisbon is located, before going for a swim in Cascais and going up to Coimbra, stopping of course at Peniche and Alcobaça. Otherwise, choose to explore the Algarve much further South along the coast to reach Faro.
