Geneva, travel in the cosmopolitan Switzerland in the middle of the mountains

A trip to Geneva is a trip to the heart of the world with the many international institutions that have their headquarters or official offices there, such as the UN, the ICRC (of which you can also visit the very interesting Museum) or even WHO. But Geneva is not just that. It is going to taste a real cheese fondue in winter at Pâquis on the shores of Lake Geneva (or G’nève as the locals call it) or swim there in summer and watch the Jet d'eau. It is celebrating “the Escalade” to stay Swiss at the expense of Savoyards, it’s paddling surfing while admiring Mt Blanc.

The car will then be compulsory so take your lease (on the French side of the border) to set off to conquer the Alpine mountains and admire the Mont Blanc then enter the Gruyère region to eat the cheese of the same name from a citadel overlooking the valley. Going down, walk the small roads that run along the river in the middle of green meadows dotted with Swiss chalets. Admire the hillsides of vines that litter the coast of Lake Geneva, before going to the paddle steamer which will rock you over the water to Montreux.
